     This interview is with Doug Dreger the inventor and owner of Sidekick.  Doug solved a problem that collectors have been facing with their collections.  It’s a great solution to keep your books from bowing or falling over in your boxes.  He had some time to answer some of our questions and let us know more about Sidekick!

     I recently acquired a number of CGC 9.9 slabs and was wondering what the FMV (Fair Market Value) would be on them.  If you're new to collecting this is the 2nd to highest grade to get for a graded comic.  10 being the absolute highest at "mint". 9.9's are also considered "mint" as well.  I posed the question to one of the Facebook comic book groups I'm in and this is what I found.

     This interview series is with another one of my favorite online stores that recently opened up a physical store.  Frankie's Comics has been a long time online retailer with lots of store exclusives from several great artists and collaborations.  They recently opened up a brick and mortar store and have big plans coming up this year.  If you haven't checked their blog, you're missing out on a lot of great content on new and trending books.  We were lucky to get some time with Kevin over the phone during the holidays to do the interview.

     I reached a point recently where I filled up over 10 long boxes with variants and new modern stuff and made a decision to start slimming down what I have.  I love variants but they're getting in the way of my collecting goals of completing runs.  The thought was flipped around in my head in so many ways and would leave me walking back and forth on sorting my books.  Do I keep it because it can spike later because of spec?  Should I keep this double because it's a newsstand and I already have a direct edition?  Since it's a variant of the main title I collect, does it mean I still keep it?  These and so many more questions make it so hard to let go of an issue.  So I posed the question to a FB group I'm in and these were some of the answers I got.

     This interview series is yet with another one of my favorite online comic shops!  I've also had the honor to meet the team at Black Flag Comics a few times after attending two of the Crain Road Tours.  They're extremely nice, accomodating and really great people all around.  If you've ever ordered from their store you know they put a lot of care into packaging up books.  They're the exclusive distributor for Clayton Crain and also put out several hot variants throughout the year!
